Model Horse Custom clinic
I will be offering a custom clinic limited to only 3 students per clinic. This clinic is a great way to learn different mediums of paint, breeds, colors, tack (leather), obstacles, and conformation at the same time completing their own horse or items that they can keep. The student will have hands on while completing their horse in a step by step process using their own choice of medium. A student may have the option to bring their own model horse that they are working on for me to help. I am also available to teach how to fix broken or missing limbs. Once a model horse is completed the student are welcome to show their horses in any fun or open classes that are offered at any model horse shows.
I am only offering 3 spots in my clinic, once the clinic is full, I will have a waiting list to determine if another clinic would be held the next weekend at the same time. Students that participate in the first clinic would like to be added to the waiting list are welcome (they will pick up where they have left off from the last clinic). These clinics will be offered at my house and I am limited on space (and parking places, there is no parking allowed on the street).
If this clinic works out I will be offering 1-2 clinics per month. My main objective is to work on custom horses, but not limited too. Other areas I like to work on are making stock halters or Arabian halters, bridles, saddle and bridle set, and obstacles. I have been in the hobby 25 years and this is a great experience from painting, leather crafting, and sculpting.
*The first clinic will be offered on Dec 14, 2013 from 9am-11am (we may run over an hour that is perfectly fine). Students are welcome to bring a notebook to write down information and a picture of a horse that they would like to paint (several pictures of different views of the same horse would be helpful). For this first clinic, students would draw raffle tickets to determine which horse would be theirs to keep and work on. I would explain the steps on how to prepare the horse from sanding seams and ready to paint, while explaining different areas to look for and work on. I will explain different mediums and how to use them. Students will be introducing to different tools to use while customizing their own horses. This a great way to work with these tools and mediums with out spending money on items you may not use again. Please remember if you are coming to clinic to wear old clothes. I live in Calera, AL (Shelby county).

This clinic went great and we have few more painted ponies that will be showing in the show coming up in the next few months. Thank you.
Classes will take place after March 1 show is over.
I am planning a cm English bridle and a western saddle set. Please email me if your interested or type the request below. [email protected]
